Foodie - App (Case Study)

Foodie is an app I created for Medmen. Similar to Nike I.D., Foodie is an app that allows users to customize their own product. Foodie allows users to choose specific food groups and customize exactly how they want their edible to be made.

The problem.
How do you normalize a product that has been demonized for years?

Core customer needs.
Customization.
When customers are able to freely customize their product it brings a unique excitement. Customers were eager to tell us all the ways they would like to have their food customized. This helped us determine which options to include in the user journey.
An easy ordering process.
One of the most widely used excuses of an early exit from an app is that the user experience is bad. We wanted to fix this issue. We made it one of our primary goals to give the user an easy going process from customization to
checkout.

Empathy map.
I created an empathy map to get a general understanding of what the average target user is feeling, thinking, saying, and doing. Keeping the empathy map results in mind while designing helps shape the foundation of the design process.
Wireframe sketches.
Before I started on the mockups I decided to sketch my ideas on paper. This helps me to brainstorm my initial thoughts on how to solve problems for our core users.
